Sage & Lavender Syrup

I am constantly trying to budget money and my number one guilty pleasure is going to a coffee shop and getting an iced bevy before work. I have found that crafting my own simple syrups has been an effective method for me to save some cash and incentivizes me to make my matcha at home.

Ingredient list:

  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar

  • 1.5 cups water

  • 1/2 cup fresh sage (or 3 tbsp dried)

  • 1/2 cup fresh lavender (or 3 tbsp dried)

  • Pinch salt

Instructions:

  1. Boil water and sugar over medium heat until sugar fully disolves

  2. Add in sage and lavender and turn off heat. Steep for 20 minutes

  3. Strain all herbs and pour into a liquid into glass container

  4. Add to your morning matcha or coffee. Delish both iced or hot!
